Ezekiel's birthday (the 27th) and my birthday (the 28th) were both BEAUTIFUL sunshiney days. An odd occurrence for this time of the year, here in Oregon. I thought "how great for a little outdoor photo shoot on his birthday!" ... Zeek wasn't
totally thrilled. No real smiles. But he put up with my antics for a little while.
Photo shoots are definitely harder with a little boy who
loves to crawl! I had to sit him down, snap a photo really quick, sit him back down, snap another fast photo...etc. :) The birthday balloon distracted him only momentarily. :)
So serious.
There are those beautiful blue's that I love!!
Mom, how could you?! You know I hate hats! And on my BIRTHDAY?!
(He cried after this picture...)
Then daddy drove home, mid-photo session...
So mommy hopped in some pictures. :)
Zeek spent a good portion of his birthday standing on his tip toes, holding onto the window seat and peering out the window at the big neighbor boys across the street playing basketball. I finally got smart and got his little stool for him to stand on.
How precious are little feet?!
Mom, I can't wait to be a big boy.
We had a great evening after daddy got home. We took Zeek to Chuck E Cheese, went to Five Guys for burgers and fries, then *attempted* to take him swimming, after a quick evening power nap, at the Kroc Center...we got there at 8:30 and figured we'd swim and splash in the water until it closed at 10...but the pool portion closes at 9. :(... so no swimming for us. It was our first time going there and we were blown away with how cool it is! 2 pools - one for lap swim and one for play, with a big water slide, a bridge play area with buckets of water that dump on you, and a hot tub, a fitness center, 2 free hours of day care a day, a rock wall and lots of other activities. I think the Anderson's might be getting a membership there. :) It sure would encourage this mama to work out more! We had memberships at another gym this year and while Skyler used it frequently, I used it ... umm... twice. Both times last January, before Zeek was born, when I was a good 9 months pregnant...So obviously, I got really good work outs in those two times, which carried over for the entire year for my fitness...right?! :) No, but seriously - how do you work out with a kid?? What do you do with him!? So...having 2 free hours of childcare would be great! Drop him off, work out for an hour (or 30 minutes, let's be honest), and then Zeek and I can go for a swim! Sounds like a lot of fun.
ANYWAY. I still can't believe my baby is one.
Love, K
