Q is For...

(Blogger's been giving me issues with posting pics!  Finally worked...so finally posting last week's pics!)

16 Week Pics:

You've gotten really good at holding and playing with your toys.  Everything goes in your mouth.

Konked out by the time we made it to the river.

Smiling big with your gums showing.

Sitting in your high chair like a big boy!

Playdate with Grandma and cousin Lincoln

17 Week Stats - May 26, 2011

  • You definitely started your "teething" stage this week.  Not only drooling a ton, but you have been SO CRANKY.  You shriek frequently, and especially when I set you down.  You just overall are more grumpy.  Or were for about 3 days.  Then I sent daddy to the store to get some teething gel, and so far, so good!  It seems to really help you out and you are less upset.  You make the funniest face when I put the gel on your gums though...must taste funky!
  • You are really good now at putting your binky in your mouth.  You like to just hold it at your mouth, lick it and talk to it.
  • You went to the Keizer Iris Parade with mommy and daddy on Saturday.  Your first parade!  You fell asleep...
  • Your aunt Chelsea is letting you use your cousin Lincoln's bouncy chair.  You like it because you can sit up higher/straighter and your toys are strapped right to it at arms reach.
  • When we say "kiss" and pucker our lips, you open your mouth and start licking the air, waiting for us to get our lips close enough to lick. :)  It's endearing... for now. hehe
  • You REALLY started laughing this week!  We took you into our chiropractor's office (Dr. Dyson), and the receptionist Renee made you CRACK up!  You were laughing for about 20 minutes!  Silly mommy started recording you on my little camera, but didn't think about it being sideways... oh well... :)
  • When I put you on my lap and you know its feeding time, you grin SO big!
  • We took out your second head rest in your car seat and raised the straps to the second notch this week.  You look like such a big boy in your seat!
  • You fart loudly... all.the.time.  Seriously.  All the time.  It's hysterical.
  • You started smiling really big this week.  Your gums show when you smile now.
  • You're also getting good at holding your teething toys in your mouth now.  You like to sit in your chairs and play with your toys like a big boy.  Sometimes you grab your binky out of your mouth and fling it across the room.
  • Since you've gotten so good at grabbing things now, you sometimes yank on your binky strap, pull the binky out of your mouth, look at me and shriek...because I'm such a bad mommy for pulling it out of your mouth...
  • On that note, I AM such a bad mommy!  Oh My Goodness!  The other day you were having a HARD day, not wanting to nap.  I HAD to run to the store really quickly.  You screamed and screamed in the car and fell asleep just as we pulled up to Target.  I carefully tried to pull you out and put you in your carrier and I accidentally snapped the top part of your ear into it!  You woke up with a jolt and SCREAMED (rightly so).  I felt so terrible!  Your face was bright red from crying.  You finally calmed down and fell asleep again as we were leaving.  I tried to carefully take you out of your carrier, and I bonked your head on the car!  Again you woke up shrieking... *sigh* I felt awful.   (Pamela assured me that we all do it and it will happen again...I guess that's reassurance anyway...haha).
  • You had a play date with Grandma Anderson and your cousin Lincoln this week.  Link is SO curious about you.  He just stares at you.  And when you cry, so does he... so, don't cry honey! :)
  • The weather cleared up a bit and Daddy, Mommy and you took a walk to Keizer Rapids Park this week.  We walked all through the forest and down to the river.  You got all tuckered out and were fast asleep by the time we got down to the water.
  • (51 was your daddy's football number!)
I knew it before, but I really realized it this week:  I'm a mom.  I walked around in public with a pee soaked t-shirt and jeans (your pee, not mine), carrying around a poopy cloth diaper in a plastic bag in my purse and upon noticing you had smeared a big booger across my shoulder, I smiled: I'm a mom.  I'm not a fashionista.  Almost daily, I'm wearing jeans, a t-shirt and whatever ballet flats are closest.  Earrings if I remember.  My hair is most often kept in a bun or a side braid (sometimes combed through before "styled" for the day).  I pluck my eyebrows every two weeks (if I'm lucky).  I don't know what styles and trends are "in" right now, and I don't care.  I want to wear a soft shirt so you feel comfortable when you want to nestle into my chest.  I want to wear jeans so I can sit comfortably on the floor with you, or walk around the park with you.  I want to wear clothes that work best for spending my time with you.

You are my baby and I am your momma.

And I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Love you, sweet thing.

P is For...

Putting together Pac-Man:

 Other 15 Week Pics:
Finally posting your 3 month pictures...

Daddy being a "family-man" business guy - carrying you around at the paintball tournament!

You like to sleep with your legs pulled up.

Sleeping in the crib in your new room.

Getting good at playing with and holding your binky!!
 So serious.
Such a happy baby!
 Sucking on your fingers.

You and Pamela.  You wore your Pac-Man shirt just for her! :)

16 Week Stats - May 19, 2011
  • Daddy says your head is more proportionate to your body now. :)
  • You had your 2nd West Coast Paintball Series tournament on Saturday!  Everyone commented on how big you've gotten since the last one in March and how cute you are!   You did really good.  During mommy's crazy hour or two hours of registration/paint sales, you sat by me in your car seat and just coo'ed and talked to everyone.
  • You put your binky in your mouth by yourself for the first time!  It fell out and you (awkwardly) used your hands to shove it back in your mouth. :)
  • An old man in the store came up to us and put two dollar bills in my hand and told me to take them home and put them in a piggy bank for you.  He said he has grandkids and just loves babies.
  • You are taking really good steps now, without us doing anything but supporting you!  You just automatically start marching away when you stand.
  • You were babysat for the first time this week (for only about 45 min) by Grandma Anderson!
  • You like to stick your pointer finger underneath your binky, pop it out of your mouth and suck on your pointer finger/middle finger... verrry loud sucking,
  • We visited Bella Vie this week and you got to say hi to your dear friends there.  Pamela couldn't stop giggling over how adorable you are!!  You started sort of laughing for the first time while we were there! :)
  • You have started getting very very grumpy if you are woken up before due time.  You start shrieking loudly!  Sorry love bug.  I don't mean to wake you.
  • Adele's "Daydreamer" STILL soothes you when you start screaming on car rides.  Every time.  I owe Adele BIG.
  •  You had been taking only 45 min morning naps for a couple weeks, but this week they went back to 2-3 hour morning naps.

Thanks for being such a cuddle bug.  Did you know that's what we prayed for over and over again before you were born?  You love to fall asleep nestled in my arms.  I love holding you and watching you fall asleep.  You are just so precious.

Next week, you'll be four months already.  Oh Boy.

Love you, my lil' monk(ey).

    O is For...

     Other 14 Week Pics:

    Holding onto your carseat.

    I love your little feet.

So big!  What a little dude!

     Taking steps with Daddy.

Proud Daddy.  He loves you so much!

My chubby buddy.  You love to stick your legs out straight! ... What a pot belly you have. :)

    15 Week Stats - May 12, 2011
    • You spent the whole day on Saturday with Grandma Miller and mommy at antique stores and an awesome architectural salvage barn in Aurora, Ore.   You had two terrible blow outs where we had to completely strip you down and put on fresh clothes.  I will appreciate when you grow out of this phase.  :)
    • You are so so happy in the mornings still.  You are starting to wake up around 9-10 more often, which is still great.  I can't complain.  We get up at 8:30 sometimes with daddy to have breakfast with him before work, but then you fall back asleep at 9:30ish for another hour or so.
    • You helped celebrate Mommy's first Mother's Day this year!!  (Well, technically we were pregnant with you last year on Mother's Day, we just didn't quite know yet. :))
    • You "wrote" a super sweet letter (with the help of Daddy).  I loved it.
    • You visited with your Great Grandma Nancy and Great Grandpa Bill on Mother's Day.  When Grandpa Bill went to bed, he kissed you on top of your head and then me on top of my head.  He does this every time we see him. :)
    • You are wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes now. You shot right out of your 0-3's, though you can still wear a few.
    • You are wearing size 2 diapers (when we do use disposable) and your Medium G's.  Your small's are just too small.
    • When I carry you in the front carrier, you stay awake more often and longer and are totally content to just look around.  You like sucking on the sides of it too.
    • "Grandma" Candy and "Aunt" Jessi found you a WHOLE bag of 7 brand new medium G Diapers and 3 mediums that were only used a few times, plus brand new liners and a few inserts....for $5.00.  I think I did a little Hallelujah dance.  Awesome find.  You definitely have enough cloth diapers for full time diapering now! (Though disposables are still more convenient sometimes outside the house...)
    • New nickname: Guppy.  You latch on to and suck just about everything you can get your mouth around.  Including my cheeks.
    • At the new house, you and I don't shower together anymore.  The bath's just aren't big enough for the both of us!  (Sad) So, Daddy's been giving you baths in your new big boy tub.  I'm not even sure if I've given you a bath since we've moved...maybe once... What a good Daddy to take over bath time. :)
    • You like to hold onto the buckle on your carseat when you are sitting in it - especially when you are falling asleep.  Must be a comfort thing for you.
    • Daddy still "walks" with you every morning.  You seem to love it.  You are really good at taking steps with your right foot.  You lift it high up and STOMP it back down.  You kind of just shuffle your left foot. :)
    • You are a MAJOR drool baby!  You soak your shirts so I have to keep bibs on you pretty regularly.
    • Daddy and I realized you no longer grunt when you wake up.  :( I miss it.  It's amazing how quickly you are out of one phase and into the next.
I cannot believe you are 3 and 1/2 months already!!  I think I say that every week.  But it's true.  What oh what did we ever do before you came along?  Oh yeah...I sewed and did projects... :)  Someday those things will come again.  For now, I'm enjoying my little buddy and having my little BFF hanging out with me all day long, every day.  Thanks for being so good to me as I cart you around everywhere.  You are so easy going and content.
Love you, little dude.  You're my favorite.
      Love,
      Mommy

        Mother's Day

Skyler handed me this envelope last Wednesday and told me I couldn't open it till Mother's Day.  I carried around the precious treasure all week with me in my purse and by midnight on Saturday, I couldn't wait any longer.  I carefully opened it and read this gem:

So precious.  What a wonderful gift and equally wonderful husband to take the time to write his for me.  :)

But it's not over at just that... this was left at the very bottom of the letter...

Happy {belated} Mother's Day to all you mothers out there!!  I hope all you mommies had an equally great day as I did :)

        Love, K

        N is For...

        Other 13 Week Pics

At SuperGame 41, watching Daddy play in the Pump Paintball Tournament

"What the crap is this thing, mom?!"

Feet hanging off the ground by about 6 inches.

Houdini strikes again. (See Comment Below)

"Break-dancing".  Your face says it's just as uncomfortable as it looks...

        You do weird things...

        Like Daddy, like Zeeky.

        So handsome.

        14 Week Stats - May 5, 2011

        •  You watched daddy play in a pump paintball tournament this weekend - and watched him dominate and win!
        • You still walk "laps" around the kitchen island with daddy every morning with your clammy feet.
        • You've started drooling very excessively this week and I've started keeping a bib on you sometimes, or else you soak the entire front of your shirt!
        • You got a Johnny Jump Up from Grandma Candy this week and you seem to really like it!  So far you don't jump...but you sit in it, with your hands down at your waist and you suck on the top of the seat, which is perfectly at your mouth level.  You pat your feet on the ground and wiggle your toes in the carpet.  You will stand up with it, but just no jumping yet.  Maybe soon. :)
        • You smile and flirt easily at almost anyone now.  You'll look at someone, grin with a twinkle in your eye, and then bury your face into the chest of whomever is holding you.  So precious.
        • Grandpa Anderson makes you smile so easily.  You clearly love him very much!
        • You're getting better and better with your hands and grabbing things, like your blanket and your binky strap.
        • Unsolved Mystery: I was holding you on my lap when I felt something warm and wet.  I looked you all over and your pants were completely dry.  I noticed the very bottom of your left sock was wet though.  Weird.  Then I stood up and noticed that there was indeed a wet spot on my lap where you were sitting (see photo above)...but yet, no wet spot on you....Houdini strikes again.
        • You poo-ed while we were in Macy's this week SO hard that it went all the way up to your arms and down them....incredible, dear son.  I have no idea how you do it.  You had to be completely stripped down and given a wet wipe bath in the store bathroom.
        • You roll over more often now when we put you on your tummy.  Or you do an awkward "break dancing" move where you lean really far to your right side...It looks so uncomfortable when you do that.
        •
        Love you always, Zeeky Baby.
          Love,
          Mama.
