Pinterest Challenge: Twine Glass Ornaments

Another quick and easy Pinterest project!  A couple months ago when I was starting to browse for Christmas goodies, I came across some very simple, yet rustic ornaments.  You should all know by now that I love anything simple and easy.  If it doesn't take much time, and it uses things I often have laying around - it's a perfect project for me.  It almost makes me giddy when I come across projects like these, because I know they're so simple to do and I don't have to run out to the store to get anything, so I can easily get the project completed during one of Zeek's naps.  (Best time to get anything done! haha).

Pinterest Twine Ornaments:

I remembered I had purchased some clear glass ornaments last year after they were clearanced out for $.99 a box.  I had a box of large and a box of smaller ones, and had two different types of twine left over from some projects from our wedding.  I was able to quickly assemble the ornaments.  When you take off the top of the ornament and start shoving the twine in, it just automatically wants to roll around in a ball like shown in the picture.  It was really very enjoyable to do it (almost like a little game) and I was a little sad when I did the last ornament.  (Am I pathetic, or what?  Don't answer that.

I thought of hanging them from various heights from the entry to the kitchen/dining room and initially I thought just using scotch tape to hold them up would suffice....and then I realized what I was really expecting: tape to hold up fragile glass pieces... and I quickly thought of a better solution...clear thumb tacks.  I really didn't want to hang things there with nails or anything because I didn't want a bunch of holes...but, you do wha chu gotta do.  :)  And 10 thumbtacks it was!  (At least they're smaller than nail holes!)  I didn't like the look of just a bunch of tacks sticking out of the wall either - so I used some thin brown ribbon to tie little bows around each tack.

Here are mine:

What do ya think?

How's Christmas coming along in your house??  :)
